Babeorella Update

For those of you curious about our upcoming iPhone game, Babeorella, there will be releasing an all-new gameplay trailer in the very near future. In the mean time, we’ll delve into more detail on how the game actually plays.

The big difference over other arena based score chasers is how we’ve dealt with the lock-on and usage of multiple weapons. Babeorella has access to a weak and strong attack, however these split into three types depending on range. Short range is a selection of close combat punches and kicks, whereas mid-range is a whip and a hammer. Long range descends into more familiar shooter territory, as you have a pistol and a large piece of artillery. This means that instead of having a gazillion buttons, you control the range on your target to switch weapons.

The lock-on takes all this into account, as it allows you to circle strafe an enemy by doing some clever stuff on figuring out the time between your attacks and if the delay is too long the lock is lost (not to mention the helpful colour coding on the various ranges as well). We’ve also thrown a dash move in for good measure, so you can zip around the robot infested asteroid at leisure.

The result of all this is a nice tactile arena based score chaser, that’s been quite popular in the office too (which is normally a good sign, as we’re quite a fussy bunch). Keep a look out for the trailer in the next few days!

Well, we have a cool little iPhone game to announce. Babeorella, the titular heroine, has crash landed on a robot infested asteroid. The player’s task is to take on the killbot hordes with a variety of ranged attacks. Each of the attacks are distance-context based. For example, to use the whip you need to be a specific distance from the enemy.

We’ll be talking more about Babeorella in the coming weeks as well as showing lots of game footage too.
